Join MTOS for a field trip to the Wolf River Wildlife Management Area in Fayette County, led by Martha Waldron and Gaynell Perry. This trip has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 31 because of the weather forecast. Displaying American Woodcock, Bald Eagle, Sedge and Marsh Wren, Le Conte’s Sparrow, Short-eared Owl and more are possible. Two rehabilitated raptors will be released. The majority of the 4,236 acre Wolf River Wildlife Management Area lies along the unchannelized portion of the Wolf River from the Tennessee/Mississippi state line to the Bateman Bridge. Upland areas are characterized by agricultural fields/pastures, and scattered stands of upland hardwoods.
