The John W Sellars Chapter of TOS is heading to Edgar Evins State Park in Dekalb County on Saturday, 18 May 2024 in search of the elusive Cerulean Warbler and other spring migrants. The best birding is in the early morning, so we will gather at the Edgar Evins SP Visitors Center / Office between 7:30 and 8:00 AM.
Your trip leader is Susan Lanier. If you need to contact someone or are running late and need to find the group, please contact Susan at 615-310- 9691.
For a glimpse of what we might see and hear at Edgar Evins, download the park’s birding flyer here:

There are numerous hiking trails throughout the park ranging in difficulty from easy to moderately strenuous.  Likewise, 5 miles of tree-lined paved roads twist and turn through the wooded park offering many excellent birding opportunities. Of course the weather during May can likewise range from “easy to moderately strenuous” so dress accordingly. As always, bring binoculars, a scope if you have one, water, and snacks.

The park office is located at: 1630 Edgar Evins State Park Rd, Silver Point, TN 38582.
