Elizabethton Club — Field Trip to Burke’s Garden

Our club, jointly with the Bristol Bird Club, will travel for birding to Burke’s Garden, Virginia.

We will meet to carpool from the America Center (where Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is located) at 3006 Bristol Highway, Johnson City, TN. Park near the Bristol Highway. Please be there by 6:45 a.m. to carpool. We plan to leave at 7 a.m.

We plan to stop at Hardee’s in Tazewell, Virginia (1.5 hours from Bristol) for a pit stop before heading into Burke’s Garden. Lunch will be at Mattie’s or the General Store in Burke’s Garden. Either bring cash (as they do not accept credit or checks), or bring your own lunch. Expect to return home between 5:00-7:30 if the weather remains good throughout the day.
