He wants folks to understand that while we love to go birding in new areas across the country and around the world, birding in the area we live in here in Southern Appalachia provides a great variety of birds for every season. We have the opportunity to look at every bird twice; first to see what species we are viewing, and secondly, and more importantly, what is it doing?
