Join MTOS Field Trip Coordinator Ryan Pudwell for an afternoon field trip to Nonconnah Creek at Halle Stadium—the site where he discovered the rarities Vermilion Flycatcher and Ash-throated Flycatcher in October 2025. Check out more information and eBird sightings at this hotspot here.

Directions to meeting spot: Park between the football and baseball fields. We’ll meet under the trees to the right of the main baseball field at this location.

Long pants, bug spray, and boots are recommended. Reaching one of the area’s better bird habitats requires crossing the creek, so wear footwear you don’t mind getting wet—or that will keep your feet dry.

This outing is not recommended for people with serious mobility issues.

You don’t have to be a MTOS member to participate, there is no charge, and be sure to bring binoculars.
