MTOS Field Trip to Pioneer Springs Trail @ Meeman-Shelby Forest SP
July 3 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am CDT
Join the Memphis TOS chapter for a field trip to the Pioneer Springs Trail at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park. Your trip leader is Ryan Pudwell. Check out eBird sightings at this hotspot here.
Meet at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3 at the trailhead near Poplar Tree Lake. You don’t have to be a MTOS member to participate, there is no charge, and be sure to bring binoculars.
The park consists primarily of some 13,467 acres of upland and bottomland forests with miles of hiking trails and two lakes. It hosts one of the finest arrays of plant and animal life in Tennessee. A boat launch on the north end of the park accesses the Mississippi River.
