Join Memphis TOS for a field trip to historic Wall Doxey State Park in Holly Springs, Mississippi, about an hour’s drive from Memphis. Hal Mitchell is our guide. See eBird sightings for this hotspot.

Meet at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the picnic area parking lot. The park entrance fee is $4 per car on the honor system. You don’t have to be a MTOS member to participate, there is no charge, and be sure to bring binoculars.

Built during the Great Depression by the famous Civilian Conservation Corps, the park is centered around a 60 acre, spring-fed lake and is rich in natural beauty. Expect spring migrants such as Louisiana Waterthrush, Prothonotary Warbler, Northern Parula, Black-and-white Warbler, White-eyed Vireo and more.
